beyond-the-black There's a few new Kickstarter projects that have entered recently with Tiny Epic Galaxies: Beyond the Black (TPG:BtB)leading the charge. As of this writing, there is about 2 1/2 weeks left remaining on the project. TPG:BtB is a full box expansion to the popular Tiny Epic Galaxies by Gamelyn Games. TPG:BtB will bring to the base game new pilots to hire with variable powers. They have also added an exploration option for players to search out for uncharted territories for fame or wealth. Just be careful of the black holes. And finally, they have implemented an "achievement" badge system to the game as an additional victory path. The Deluxe expansion can be gotten for $24 and if you don't have the base game, which is required, you can get them bundled together for $46. Keep in mind they ship together, so if you don't want to wait, Gamelyn Games suggests you order from your retailer instead. thornwatch Next up is Thornwatch by Lone Shark Games and Penny Arcade. Thornwatch is based of the graphic novel adventure of the same name, taking place in the dangerous, magical forest named Eyrewood. Thornwatch provides a different spin on modern RPG. The length of the game is adjustable from 60 minutes to 2+ hour epic sessions and the Momentum system does away with health tracking of monsters as well as keep track of the ever changing  order of player turns. Lone Shark Games has offered a Print and Play for those interested in testing the game out. The game can be gotten for $78 and there is about 3 weeks left before the end of the campaign as of this writing. siege-of-the-citadel Siege of the Citadel - 2nd Edition is a reboot of the original Siege of the Citadel miniature game from the 1990s. Richard Borg, the original lead designer of the game, is once again leading the design team on this second edition along with Kevin Wilson, Eric Lang, and Jay Little. Siege of the Citadel is set in the Mutant Chronicles world, a dieselpunk sci-fi setting. Players will command 2 units from a selection of 5 factions and work together to complete their objective. This co-op miniatures game is expecting to ship with 40 pre-assembled miniature and have unlocked many expansions and add-on options. The base game can be gotten for $69 and as of this writing, there is 3 1/2 weeks left until the end of the campaign. brides-and-bribes Finally, we have Brides & Bribes by Spaceballoon Games, a worker placement set in the 16th century Genoa. Brides and Bribes promises to have a unique and highly interactive gameplay with a hidden worker placement element. This mechanic hopes to replicate the social intrigue of the era and provides players interaction. Players will compete as one of 5 families, struggling for power and prestige to become the new Doge (lord) of the city. Players will need to find the right balance between gaining riches (though expanding your business) and gaining fame (through political marriages). You can get Brides & Bribe for ~$44 (€39), or a deluxe version for ~$71 (€64). The campaign will end in 3 weeks of this writing.
