There is a new fighting card game on Kickstarter. Kumite, by 5th Dimension Games, is a 30 minute, two-player, turn-based game where players adapt different martial arts skills to try to knock out their opponent. Turn game night into fight night with Kumite, a two-player martial arts card game. 5th Dimension Games, Inc. is excited to present this unique strategic turn-based game that challenges players to balance stamina and experience in order to adapt different martial art skill sets in their quest to knockout their opponent.

Kumite features Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai, and Tae Kwon Do. Each martial art style has a unique set of action cards that were carefully selected to invoke the spirit of each fighting style while keeping the characters balanced and the moves as true to life as possible.

Players use a deck-building engine to create a deck of skill cards that attack and defend to adapt to their opponent’s continuously evolving strategy. Various skill cards allow a player to hold, stun, or takedown their opponent in order to create an opening for an attack or disrupt their opponent’s rhythm. These mechanisms create another level of strategy players will need to master if they wish to defeat experienced players.

Reminiscent of classic arcade fighting games, Kumite features a linear mat component which allows players to control distance to avoid damage and get in range to strike. This subtle yet extremely important mechanism permeates through all other aspects of this card game.

With an average play time of thirty minutes, Kumite is the ultimate two player strategy game. No two fights are ever the same, as new strategies emerge with each game. The more you play, the better it gets!
