sword sorcery Elaborately billed as "The Ultimate Heroic Fantasy Co-Op Boardgame Experience," Sword & Sorcery is an upcoming release by Ares Games, designed by Gremlin project, the team many will remember as the force responsible for 2014's Galaxy Defenders. There's a trailer up on YouTube and a website up at  http://www.sword-and-sorcery.com/. The "first set" for the game (titled "Immortal Souls") is due out in Q3-4 of 2106, presuming the success of a Kickstarter campaign slated for September. Currently available information promises many carryover design features from Galaxy Defenders, and more:
Each player controls one or more heroes – legendary characters brought back to life by powerful sorcery. Weakened by the resurrection, they grow stronger during their story-driven quests. By acquiring soul points during missions, the heroes’ souls regenerate, restoring their legendary status with multiple powers, magic and soul weapons, and powerful artifacts. Designed by Gremlin Project (the same team who created Galaxy Defenders), Sword & Sorcery's game system represents the perfect evolution of its forerunner. Gameplay is faster and dynamic, thanks to an innovative area movement and area control system, with new features never seen before in a game of this category.
