Ares Games Announces New Releases for GenCon 2015

Ares Games, publisher of Wings of Glory, Sails of Glory and the War of the Rings, is announcing the release of two new games and two expansions at GenCon this year. The two game releases are Jolly Roger: The Game of Piracy and Mutiny, and Co-Mix. In addition, Ares is releasing two expansions for Galaxy Defender, Operation Strikeback! And Extinction Protocol. Jolly Roger is a card game for 4-10 players which Ares describes as “fun, rowdy, fast, and easy to learn.” Players are members of the crew of a pirate ship, looking to gather the most gold to become the richest pirate in Tortuga. Co-Mix is a storytelling game in which up to 10 players will craft stories using cards to create a comic book. Play can be either individually or in teams. Players choose the kind of story, and whether it will be funny, scary or moving, etc. Then all the players create a story based on the same title. The other players then vote on the best story to determine the winner. There will be only a limited number available at GenCon, with the game scheduled for October release. Operation Strikeback! And Extinction Protocol are expansions to Galaxy Defenders, allowing players to strike at the Alien base on the moon—in Operation Strikeback!—and eventually assault the Alien home world. Agents will have new weapons and Power Armor as they face the enemy. Finally, Ares will have a preview copy of Odyssey: Wrath of Poseidon, a deduction game for 2-5 players, at GenCon. Players will ‘sail’ around the Sacred Isles, seeking passage home y making offerings and sacrifices to the Gods. Poseidon, however, is using all his powers to prevent them reaching home. Something to look forward to.
