Paradox Coming to Kickstarter June 26

June 9, 2015 - 9:28pm
Split Second Games has announced their June 26th Kickstarter for Paradox, an innovative, multi-dimensional, sci-fi puzzle game where players take on the role of scientists to repair the timelines (past, present, and future) of various worlds.
From the press release:
In the near future, a space-time disturbance referred to only as The Quake is fracturing entire worlds’ timelines and removing these worlds from existence.  Players take on the roles of scientists working quickly to repair these worlds’ connections to their past, present, and future by making new time strands — however, every repaired connection ripples through time and fuels the Quake to fracture more worlds.  When the storm’s power fades, the most successful scientist will be hailed as a hero throughout the multiverse.
Paradox takes familiar boardgame elements such as card drafting and resource management, then adds a Bejewelled-like grid of colorful disks for each player to manipulate, along with a universe of worlds that must be protected by game’s end.  As a result, Paradox is simple to learn yet challenging to master as players navigate three interlocking systems to protect these worlds from the chaotic forces of the Quake.
In addition to the unique mechanics, there is also great artwork - the illustrations on the cards line up to create a panoramic picture when the cards are arranged in order.
Paradox is a family-friendly game for 2-4 players, and it's about 20 minutes for player. It has streamlined play for casual audiences as well as challenging options for strategy gamers.
With the fantastic artwork and the innovative mechanics, it's clear there was a lot of thought put into this game, and it's worth checking out when it comes to Kickstarter on June 26th! For more information, visit Split Second Games' website.
