With the release of the latest adventure path set for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game,
Wrath of the Righteous, some changes have come to the game and organized play. The Pathfinder ACG is a cooperative card game that distills down the tabletop RPG into a card game that doesn't need a DM, freeing up that player to adventure with everyone else. In Wrath of the Righteous you are going off and fighting the minions of demon lord Deskari on your way to fighting him and becoming mythic heroes. The major difference aside from story for this set from the rest is the introduction of the d20 into the dice pool. Once you have determined which type of mythic hero you will become you will gain access to mythic charges which allow you to roll the d20 instead of your normal dice, thus introducing the possibility for edge of your seat victories and epic failures. Add in new characters to try from the perplexing summoner to new hybrid classes like the bloodrager and you have a whole different experience waiting for you.
On the organized play front, along with the season of the righteous adventures they have introduced a guide to the organized play which provides information on how to run or play in an organized play setting. The guide also details the new tier system for the characters which prevent characters from playing scenarios that are too low or too high for them as well as how they can get deck upgrades. The tier system simplifies the upgrading of the character and also adds in a new dice bump mechanic which allows you to change the result of a check up or down by 1, but be careful, these dice bumps are one time use and while several can be used at once, you will only ever get 6 of them since you acquire 1 per completed adventure. And lastly they include some pre-generated deck lists to get you started and information on how to include the promo cards from the miniature packs into your class deck.
Overall I am very excited for this new set and look forward to having new adventures with both the regular game and the organized play and rolling that big d20.
