New on Kickstarter: Orcs Must Die by Petersen Games
March 31, 2015 - 7:13pm
Petersen Games has licensed the IP for the popular video game Orcs Must Die! from Robot Entertainment and has launched a Kickstarter to bring you two cooperative games from the franchise. Yes you heard that right this is for two technically different games. Orcs Must Die: Order - The Boardgame and Orcs Must Die: Unchained - The Boardgame. In Order players will have access to Maximilian the War Mage, Gabriella the Redeemed Sorceress and other heros that will face down waves of seemingly unstoppable Orcs while in Unchained players will control opposing heroes like the Kobold King or Midnight the assassin and deal with relentless assaults from human soldiers, lions, elves, bears, dwarfs, etc.
The award winning game Orcs Must Die! has at last made its way to the table top! Orcs Must Die! The Boardgame dares you to preserve your stronghold sieged by orcs. You have traps & weapons galore, and can team up with your friends to obliterate the nasty orcs and their grotesque allies. Robot Entertainment has joined forces with award-winning designer Sandy Petersen to create Orcs Must Die! The Boardgame project. Our new game has been precisely adapted to the tabletop environment. It includes scores of great plastic figures of all your favorite heroes, plus hordes of orcs, crossbow orcs, kobolds, gnolls, trolls, ogres, and more. Build an exciting fortress using our tile-based system, then watch as swarms of baddies plunge through your defenses to wreck your Rift.In both games 1-4 players will choose a hero and face 3 onslaughts of enemies each one stronger than the last. Each hero will have an individual sheet, special ability, secret power, mini, and weapon cards that the players will not have access to. There will be different difficulty levels and tiles to create maps or use pre-arranged maps. Once set up prepare to face waves of enemies who, once killed, will leave you trophy skulls to purchase new items, upgrades, and more. Combat involves rolling dice of different colors dependent on what weapons and upgrades you own. But that’s not all, if a copy of both Order and Unchained are present at game time you can combine the two to create a third PVP style game! The players will split into teams and go head to head Order vs. Unchained. This version of the game will support up to 4 players on each side. Finally each pledge will include digital rewards including the Orcs Must Die! and Orcs Must Die! 2 video games as well as a beta code for the upcoming Orcs Must Die! Unchained! So if you’re a fan of Orcs Must Die!, tower defense games in general, or just thinks this sounds like a game for you check out the Kickstarter today.
