First time designer, Randy Rathert, has a new Kickstarter campaign for his dice rolling worker placement game, King’s Abbey. Set in 10th century Europe, players compete to build locations throughout the abbey and prepare themselves for the encroaching darkness.
“Players are in charge of monks that are represented by 10 dice as they go out and gather resources, go on crusades, construct buildings, train clergy, bring in peasants, and defend their abbey against the ever increasing darkness. Each player does this by rolling their dice and then assigning each die (monk) to different places on their player board, main board, and crusade cards.”This medium weight Euro comes with over 150 wooden bits and 44 dice, with planned stretch goals to upgrade several of the components and even a possible soundtrack.
