Kickstarter Update: FreeSpace Tactics

Some of us may remember the hit space combat game for the PC, Freespace.  Now, Interplay's cult space combat simulator series returns in the form of a tabletop game, FreeSpace Tactics.  Led by game designer Chris Taylor, this Kickstarter project seeks to produce a tabletop miniatures game set in the FreeSpace universe.

FreeSpace Tactics is a fast-paced miniatures game of space combat for 2-4 players set in the war-torn FreeSpace universe. Inspired by the intense dogfights of the FreeSpace video games, we have been testing and refining the gameplay of FreeSpace Tactics for more than a year to create a tactical and highly customizable experience beyond the traditional miniatures game.

FreeSpace Tactics seeks to recreate battles set in the FreeSpace universe through ship-to-ship combat scenarios.  In this miniatures game for 2-4 players, players are able to customize their ships, move them with move cards designed for each ship, and use especially powerful Ace Cards that grant each ship special abilities. The core set comes with:

• 4 different plastic ship miniatures
• 6 asteroid tiles
• 2 range rulers
• 80 Move and Ace cards
• 24 Pilot cards
• 1 Rulebook
• 13 dice of 4 different types
• Damage markers
• Shield markers
• Critical hit markers
• Missile Ammo markers
