Stonemaier's "Cutting-Edge" Game Announcement: SCYTHE
December 1, 2014 - 8:25pm
Stonemaier Games has announced a new game based on the fantastic artwork of Jakub Rozalski: Scythe. Jamey Stegmaier discovered Rozalski's art samples on Kotaku and was inspired by the theme of the prints: the 1920s. And mechs. Wait, mechs in the 1920s!? And why not? Stegmaier and Rozalski decided to strike a partnership to design this new board game, described thus:
Scythe (2-5 players, 60-90 minutes) is a board game set in an alternate-history 1920s. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor. Think of it as Agricola meets Kemet with asymmetric factions.Still early in the design process, Stonemaier Games plans to launch the project on Kickstarter sometime in 2015.
