Fantasy Flight Announces Star Wars: Armada

Well, for those that have been keeping their X-Wing Miniatures games up-to-date and wondering how they would ever introduce a Star Destroyer into the mix (with other smaller, ships already being so large) - FFG announced their upcoming release of Star Wars Armada.  Armada will be a two-player miniatures tactical game set in the Star Wars universe.  Wait, don't we already have that? Well Armada appears to be a much smaller scale where certain ships, X-Wing for example, are represented with multiple ships per "stand" (See Picture above). There is a new template that will be used with this game that is interesting: "In Star Wars: Armada, you assume the role of fleet admiral, serving with either the Imperial Navy or Rebel Alliance. You assemble your fleet and engage the enemy. Using the game’s unique maneuver tool, you steer your capital ships across the battlefield, even while squadrons of starfighters buzz around them. Then, as these ships exchange fire, it’s your job to issue the tactical commands that will decide the course of battle and, perhaps, the fate of the galaxy."
