Patronize

In Patronize, designer Hisashi Hayashi (Trains, Sail to India) has created a fast trick-taking game that has players controlling individuals with special skills with a goal to become more famous.  AEG will be publishing Patronize, originally released in 2013 under their Tempest series. The Tempest series launched October 2012 and each game “shares a story, characters, and location with every other game.”  Each game is part of an overall story for the City-State of Tempest.  The current series includes: Canalis, Courtier, Love Letter, Mercante, and Dominare. Components include 29 cards and 37 cubes and a play time of 20 minutes.

Doomtown: Reloaded Saddlebag #1

(No! Not the fat on thighs.) Doomtown: Reloaded is a new expandable card game, set in the Deadlands™ universe, releasing at GenCon this year.  The expansions for this game will thematically be referred to as Saddlebags and the first one will be releasing in November.  It will contain 84 cards and a story sheet that picks up “as Morgan’s matriarch returns to town, two candidates step forward to vie for the mayor’s seat.”

Legend of the Five Rings: The New Order

Legend of the Five Rings (L5R) is a collectible card game with an interactive storyline.  The New Order is the third expansion that takes place in the events leading up to the coronation of the new Emperor.  Each booster pack contains 16 cards with a chance for a foil rare.

Empire Engine

In Empire Engine, players power their empire by rotating gears in this rondel game.  Gears and engines are used to perform attacks, defend, salvage, export, and collect resources with the goal to collect the most points.  Empire Engine joins the 5 Minute Fun Series with Love Letter, Mai Star, Cheaty Mages, L5R, Agent Hunter, and Card of the Dead.  Components include 46 wooden cubes, 22 cards, and 1 Empire bag.
