
Rio Grand products continue to be seen throughout television. On May4, in "Signaling Risk" (season 1, episode 6) of the new HBO comedy, Silicon Valley, character Erlich (played by T.J. Miller) carries Arctic Scavengers through the house and places it upright on a top shelf. The founder of Rio Grande Games
stated, "Rio Grande Games is responsible. We have hired a firm that specializes in product placement on TV shows. This is just one of the appearances for Arctic Scavengers."
Arctic Scavengers is a bluffing card game where each player is a leader of a tribe of survivors. Throughout game play, players bluff and build their tribes and in the end, the largest tribe is the winner. Designed by Robert Gabhart and published in 2009, this is a game for 2 to 5 people and plays in 45 minutes.
On Novemeber 28 2013, Tikal had an appearance on Fox's hit show, Glee. During the
What Does a Fox Say? number at the end of "Puppet Master" (season 5, episode 7) the teen cast sings around a table with Tikal and Rio Grand Games logo prominently in the middle of the screen. The entire segment is on
YouTube but Tikal can be seen starting at 1:10 into the video. Tikal also made an appearance on CBS's comedy The Big Bang Theory. In "Table Polarization" (season 7, episode 16), Tikal can be seen in the background during a scene in character Wolowitz's (played by Simon Helberg) home.
Tikal is an area control, action point game of exploration. Players discover treasures and temples and is the first game in the "Mask Trilogy" named for the cover art. Designed by Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling and published in 1999, this is a game for 2 to 4 people and plays in 120 minutes.
