Floodgate Games brings polyominoes to space with Cosmic Colonies Kickstarter
In Cosmic Colonies, 2-5 players are each placing building tiles in polyomino shapes on their own asteroid board, trying to score the most points. The asteroid board is a grid of different terrain types. Players are trying to cover up certain terrain types during the game because they are awarded more points for having fewer squares of different terrain types showing at the end of the game. Mechanically, the game utilizes simultaneous selection of worker cards that can be used to collect resources or build building tiles. The worker cards orbit around the table, in that the two you use each round are passed to the player on your left at the end of the round.

There is a basic mode and an advanced mode. The game also makes scaling adjustments based on the number of players.
Cosmic Colonies is being published by Floodgate Games. It is designed by Scott Almes (Tiny Epic series of games), with art by Matt Bain, Matt Paquette, and Tristam Rossin.
The Kickstarter campaign for Cosmic Colonies runs through 10:00 pm EDT on October 24th. There is a single pledge level of $39 for the game. The game projects to deliver in May 2020.
