Capstone Games bringing two new releases this fall
Capstone Games has made a name for themselves publishing games with expansive depth and also partnering with international companies to bring such games to North America. They are releasing two titles this fall.
First is Crystal Palace for 2-5 players, which is releasing at Essen from Feuerland Spiele. Crystal Palace is set during the first World's Fair in London in 1851. Each player represents a nation trying to create the grandest spectacle. Mechanically the game uses dice placement at eight locations with the twist being that players get to choose the values of the dice they place. Crystal Palace is designed by Carsten Lauber, with art by Andrea Alemanno.
Second is Race for the Chinese Zodiac for 3-5 players, which is releasing in November as the newest addition to Capstone's Simply Complex line of games. This line of games seeks to provide a deep play experience with low rules overhead and under an hour in playtime. In Race for the Chinese Zodiac, each player is an animal competing to have the first year of the Chinese Zodiac named after it by winning a race against the other animals. The game utilizes action selection from a hand of cards and a dual-layered wheel that modifies the effect of those cards from round to round. Race for the Chinese Zodiac is designed by Christina Ng Zhen Wei and Yeo Keng Leong, with art by Ray Toh.
