The Blob oozes into Arkham Horror the Card Game

Fantasy Flight Games will bring a monster inspired by classic B horror movies to Gen Con 2019, in a new standalone scenario for Arkham Horror: The Card Game. The Blob That Ate Everything, designed by Matt Newman, will be run as an event where multiple groups of investigators will bring their own investigator decks and work together in an effort to defeat the giant enemy.

"In this scenario, the players still split into groups of 1–4 investigators, each with their own play area and encounter deck. However, there are several elements of the scenario which are shared across all of the groups, each of which are managed by an event organizer. Most important of these elements is the health of the scenario’s boss entity, Subject 8L-08."

Subject 8L-08 really can eat anything, which manifests through temporarily hindering an investigator in some way, such as reducing one of their skills to zero, preventing them from playing or using cards from another class, or preventing them from speaking coherently. Another element shared across all of the groups is a finite number of helpful countermeasures, which can be spent by any group. The listed Gen Con events for The Blob That Ate Everything currently are sold out, so you may have to wait for Arkham Nights or retail release to take on the ooze. The scenario can be played as a standalone or integrated into any campaign as a side-story.
