Topiary will have players gardening in Winter on January 10th

Renegade Game Studios has announced that players everywhere will be able to shed the winter chill and go gardening on January 10th, 2018 when they officially release Topiary. The game is for 2-4 garden enthusiasts aged 10+ and plays in 15-30 minutes. Topiary is designed and features artwork by Danny Devine.

It’s a fabulously sunny day – the perfect occasion for folks to visit the new topiary garden on the outskirts of town! Nothing spells a relaxing weekend like enjoying sculptures created with the assistance of nature herself.

Topiary is an abstract strategy/puzzle game where players are positioning their visitors meeples along the edge of a topiary garden represented by a 5 by 5 grid of cards. Visitors will jockey for position to view the closest topiary sculpture and any behind that topiary along the same sight line that are larger than those in front. Visitors who are fortunate enough to to see multiple topiaries of the same type will score bonus points.

The garden can get quite crowded at times, though, so it’s up to you to make sure your visitors have a good experience with these beautiful botanicals. You’ll want to place your visitors in the best positions along the outer edge of the garden and rearrange the sculptures strategically to give your visitors the most spectacular view of the landscape!

A possible award season favorite, the game has already been nominated for the 2017 Italian Game of the Year. This will be the English North American release of the game originally released by Fever Games.
