Upper Deck Entertainment has announced plans to release the
Marvel Contest of Champions: Battlerealms game in the Summer of 2018. The game has 3-6 players aged 12+ battling against each other as Marvel superheroes and is set in the "Contest of Champions" universe made popular in video games.
In Battlerealms each player will take control of a one of 12 available Marvel Superheroes, rolling dice to activate powers, move across locations to gain points of their own and to take points from other players.
At the beginning of each game each player will choose one of the 12 available superheroes and then construct a play area containing different locations. Once the game is set the battle begins. On each turn players will roll up to six custom dice to discover what powers they will be able to use, rerolling the dice up to two times. Arrangement of the dice will matter when unlocking unique powers, attacking and moving among locations.
Actions will allow you to both move and eliminate the victory points of other players while also earning your own victory points. If a players victory points ever fall to zero they are knocked out of the game. Players will win the game by either eliminating all other heroes or by being the first to reach 21 victory points.
Marvel Contest of Champions: Battlerealm is scheduled for a Summer 2018 release.
