A couple years ago saw the release of Pacific Rim, the dream movie for most fans of giant mecha style anime, and early next year will see the release of it's sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising. So to help promote the movie and create new merchandise, Universal Pictures and Legendary have teamed up with several companies to create different products based on the movie. Among licenses handed out to companies like Bandai to do action figures and models, River Horse Games was given the license to produce board games. Not much is said about that games specifically, but the press releases says they will "
develop a line of collectible board games and role playing games, which will aim to bring the Jaeger vs. Kaiju battleground to life." The collectible aspect has me intrigued, but also the fact that a board game line is being developed out of a movie I like makes me excited. You can read the
full press release here.
