Zev Shlasinger brings Ascending Empires to Wizkids

Publisher Wizkids has announced the release of an updated version of Ascending Empires called Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition, by co-designers Ian Cooper and Jan M. Gonzalez with artwork by Sergi Marcet. Ascending Empires was originally publised in 2011 by Z-Man Games. 

Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition is a space-themed, 4x game with some dexterity elements. Players will explore new planets by flicking their space ship discs across the game board, develop new technologies based on alien artifacts, expand territories across the expanse, and exploit planets for their resources. Of course, with all this exploring and expanding, you’re bound to cross paths with opponents who need to be exterminated through the use of a clever combat system.

This new version will replace the modular board system with 2 large neoprene mats for a smoother flicking surface. In addition, the soldier miniatures and buildings have been upgraded to a high resolution plastic. Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition plays 2-4 players, ages 14+, and has an estimated 60-90 minute playtime. Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition is scheduled to be released in 2023.
