Z-Man brings new tragedies to Tragedy Looper

2011’s Tragedy Looper by designer BakaFire, otherwise known as Itou Shin Ito, and publisher Z-Man Games is cult favorite one-versus-many deduction game that is hard to accurately describe. One player is the Mastermind, moving characters through a series of events in 4 rooms and playing cards. The protagonists are trying to figure out who the characters are and what is going on. If a certain set of conditions are met, there is a tragedy, and the game temporarily “ends”. However, the protagonists can use this information to play through events again, hopefully avoiding the tragedy with new found information.

The title inspired several expansions, some only released in Japan. To this end, Z-Man Games has just announced Tragedy Looper: New Tragedies, a stand-alone box coming in 2023, containing both material previously unreleased in the US, and new content. New Tragedies contains 13 new scripts and 30 characters, plus a 2-scenario tutorial mode for this notoriously challenging-to-teach title. Tragedy Looper: New Tragedies is scheduled to release in March 2023.
