WordCraft, by Artipia Games, changes the vocabulary of potion-making

August 15, 2022 - 10:20am

Have you ever found yourself playing a potion-crafting game and thought to yourself, “Self, the only way this game could be better is if I had to craft words in order to get my ingredients”? Well Artipia Games has just the game for you. WordCraft by designer Christian Giove and artist Kuo Yang is that potion-crafting game where players spell out words in order to create new formulas, complete achievements and earn experience points.

During the setup of WordCraft, you will be laying out a grid of 18 letter cards. On their turns, players will choose a word using at least three of the available letters, placing their cubes on those letters. You will then check to see if the word you created completes any of the available achievement cards. After each player has created a word or passed, a scoring round occurs - the player(s) with the most cubes on each letter will earn the experience points listed at the bottom of the card. After the third round, a final scoring occurs, gaining bonus points for achievement cards completed. The player with the most points is the winner.

WordCraft plays 2-4 players, ages 14+, with an estimated playtime of 25-40 minutes. WordCraft is available for pre-order now directly through Artipia, and has an estimated delivery date of December 2022. There is also an option to pick up pre-ordered copies at Essen Spiel, if preferred.

Where to start? Where to start? Hmm... I like to play games? Yeah, that's brilliant. <delete><delete><delete> I'll try again later.
