Wizards of the Coast goes beyond time and space to bring The Doctor to Magic: The Gathering

August 23, 2022 - 1:51pm

In 2021, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced Universes Beyond, collaboration with intellectual properties that were outside of those owned by WotC or its parent company Hasbro. The first pairing was with Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 property in the form of four Commander decks. This will be followed up by a fully-draftable, booster-based Lord of the Rings set that, while not usable in Standard format, is usable in Historic and Modern formats and will be available in Alchemy formats in Magic: The Gathering Arena.

And now, as announced on their “Wizards Presents” upcoming products presentation, Wizards of the Coast is teaming up with the BBC to bring the ultimate Planeswalker to Magic, The Doctor. Wizards of the Coast have announced that there will be four new Commander-style decks, card styles, collectible boosters, and a Secret Lair. The cards will cover all 60 years of Doctor Who and will include doctors, villains, companions, and locations, including content from the upcoming season.

Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond – Doctor Who is scheduled to be released in Q3 of 2023.

Where to start? Where to start? Hmm... I like to play games? Yeah, that's brilliant. <delete><delete><delete> I'll try again later.
