Vampire: the Masquerade - Vendetta card game on KS

“Chicago. The Camarilla’s North American crown jewel. Prince Kevin Jackson skillfully rose to power after a gruesome war with the werewolves, and has been ruling the city with a firm grasp ever since. The Kindred of Chicago don a peaceful veneer, happy to fake support for their Prince, but in secret, some of them are conducting a proxy war to overthrow him…”

Horrible Guild and master designers Charlie Cleveland and Bruno Faidutti (Citadels) have started a Kickstarter Campaign for Vampire: The Masquerade – Vendetta, a card game of warring vampire factions in Chicago. In Vendetta, 3-5 players each choose one of 7 highly asymmetrical vampire clans, each with its own 9 card deck, some focusing on power, some on sorcery, and some simply being chaotic and feral. Players start with 2 cards to plan their takeover, and gain an additional card each round. Players place cards onto one of the 4 locations, either face up or face down, although playing the cards face down costs some precious blood. At the end of the round, players secretly choose to either stay in the fight or retreat, although losers in the fight can deal damage on their way out. The player with the highest power at the location wins the valuable ally living there, awarding more power and income of blood each round. Beware, if a player runs out of blood, they go into a frenzy, and consume one of their allies. If this ally is a vampire, then the player has committed a crime, and although they gain power, their influence is greatly diminished. Do you have what it takes to become prince of Chicago?

Vampire: The Masquerade – Vendetta comes with 63 Clan Cards, 9 for each clan, 20 Ally Cards, 4 Location Tiles, 28 Position Tiles, and various cards, tokens and markers. The Kickstarter Campaign for Vendetta continues through March 25, and the game is expected to deliver in December 2020.
