Tribes vie to claim the Gates of Mara from WizKids

August 5, 2020 - 9:36pm

Lead the reptilian Dragonkin, the amphibious Goblins, the insectoid Antids, or the arboreal Elves in the Gates of Mara board game. Its designed by J.B. Howell (co-designer of Flotilla) with stunning art by Nastya Lehn and produced by WizKids. The game features an upgradeable worker placement mechanism with a layered, area control mechanism. Gates of Mara supports 2-4 players, aged 14+, and plays in 90 – 180 mins depending on the number of players.

Players strategically position tribe members around the Realms and Gates and enchant their tribe members to give them special abilities which aid in completing short-term objectives. These objectives contribute to the players influence, and the goal is to have the most influence for players to lay claim on the Gates of Mara. There is varied gameplay because of a variable central board and multiple Elemental Lords. Tribes are represented by standees with uniquely shaped bases that indicate which spaces they can claim.

Visit the WizKids product page for more information about the Gates of Mara board game expected to be released in October of 2020.
