Trekking the World: A Globetrotting Board Game

March 31, 2020 - 2:03pm

Underdog Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Trekking the World, which is billed as a "beautifully illustrated game celebrating the pleasures and wonders of world travel." The game is designed by Charlie Bink, who also designed Trekking the National Parks, a well-received family-style game. The artwork for the game is supplied by a host of international artists.

The new game plays from 2-5 players, ages 10 and up, in 30-60 minutes.  During the game, the players will be visiting various locations on the globe, collecting souvenirs and endeavoring to be the most seasoned traveler by the end of the game.  Each turn has 2 phases: The Move phase in which players discard cards in their hands to move to new locations and the Choose phase in which they choose one action from the 3 available actions - draw 2 cards, take a journey, or journey.  The player who has planned their route most effectively and scored the most victory points will win the game.

The Kickstarter campaign for Trekking the World, which has already funded, has less than a week to go.  There is only one pledge level available, but there is Kickstarter exclusive content included with it.  If this family game sounds good for you and yours, check it out here.
