Transformers TCG is rolling out, no more new content
Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) has announced that the Transformers Trading Card Game has had its final release. No additional content will follow Titan Masters Attack, which was released on May 29th. WOTC indicated the decision to end new content was based on sales not meeting expectations and the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Transformers Trading Card Game debuted in 2018. The two-player battling card game had players build a team of character cards, each with a bot mode and an alt mode, supported by a deck of battle cards with actions and upgrades. After the initial starter set and booster packs release, the game saw expansions through four booster sets tied to thematic events, like the War for Cybertron, through two standalone character decks, and through two character duel sets.
The Transformers TCG now enters the crowded hall of dead trading card games. In the immortal words of Optimus Prime: "Autobots, transform and rollout."
