Tower Defense - Deluxe Style!

May 14, 2021 - 11:16am

Fireside Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a deluxe version of its award-winning tower defense game, Castle Panic.  The game was originally published in 2009 and has come out with multiple expansions along the way.  The game was designed by Jason De Witt.  The artwork and graphic design for this deluxe edition are being provided by Tad Lambert, Matt Paquette, Anthony Cournoyer, and Justin Chan.  The game plays 1-6 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in about an hour.

Castle Panic is a cooperative tower defense game in which all of the players work together to fend off the hordes of monsters attacking their castle.  This deluxe edition includes all of the expansions: The Wizard’s Tower (originally published in 2011), which introduces a friendly wizard and his handy spells; The Dark Titan (originally published in 2015), which introduces more powerful enemies, including Agranok, the dark titan himself; Engines of War (originally published in 2016), which gives the players new resource cards; and a brand-new expansion introduced in this deluxe edition, Crowns and Quests, which adds new characters and quests to the game.

This fully-funded Kickstarter campaign has about 3 weeks to go at the time of this writing.  This deluxe edition of Castle Panic is not going to be available through traditional retail channels - it is only available through the Kickstarter campaign and directly from publisher Fireside Games.  There are multiple pledge levels available as well as videos on how to play on the campaign page.  If you are interested, be sure and check out the Kickstarter campaign page here.  The game is expected to deliver in May 2022.
