TheOP to produce licensed Rubik’s Cubes

February 20, 2020 - 12:37am

The OP, the board game publishinghouse previously known as USAopoly, has just announced that they have entered a partnership with Rubik’s Brand Ltd. The humble Rubik’s Cube, first invented in 1974 by Ernő Rubik, has had a pop culture following since its commercial release 40 years ago. The classic 3x3 puzzle original challenged our minds to align the colors on its 6 sides, but has now lead to speed solving competitions and all sorts of variations on size and shape. TheOP aims to add licensed intellectual properties to the classic 3x3 cube, presumably from its vast library of properties.

TheOP has announced they will be bringing a variety of pop culture cubes to the market throughout 2020, with the first hitting the market in late summer. These cubes will be solved in the traditional manner, but will feature “moments and characters from each respective license” on each of the cube’s 6 sides.
