theOP and AEG team up to bring Smash Up: Marvel this fall
“The Mightiest Rivals Meet for Battle This Fall in The Op’s Smash Up: Marvel”
Last year, Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) and theOP (formerly USAopoly) entered into an agreement to bring licensed characters into AEG’s massive card game Smash Up. Smash Up (2012) by Paul Peterson is known for allowing players to “smash together” two themed decks to create one unique 40-card deck. With this newly created, eclectic band of warriors, 2-4 players do battle trying to take over bases in the main play area. Smash Up already has 75 varied faction decks available in 16 expansion sets, including dinosaurs, kitties, pirates and cowboys, so these fusion decks can get quite interesting.
Now, theOP has announced they will be releasing Smash Up: Marvel, introducing new themed decks from the Marvel Universe into this immense and beloved universe. At this point, only 2 of the included 8 decks have been announced – HYDRA and The Ultimates. Playable cards will include perennial favorites such as Captain Marvel and Spectrum, or evildoers like Arnim Zola and Red Skull.
