Terra Mystica: Bigger and Boxier

Capstone Games has announced a new Big Box edition for Terra Mystica. This comprehensive collector's item will include the base game, the Fire & Ice expansion, the Merchants of the Seas expansion, and the solo mode by Automa Factory. One to five players will compete on one of four maps to change the land to their preferred environment and develop buildings to expand their resources. The two double-sided game boards feature one map from the base game, one map from the Fire & Ice expansion, and the two maps from the Merchants of the Seas expansion. 

Terra Mystica is designed by Jens Drögemüller and Helge Ostertag, with art by Dennis Lohausen. The same team handled the Fire & Ice expansion. For Merchants of the Seas, Eduardo Andrade and James Ataei were added to the design team. The solo mode is designed by Lines J. Hutter, Morten Monrad Pedersen, and David J. Studley.

Pre-orders for the Terra Mystica Big Box will be starting soon on the Capstone Games website. The games are waiting to dock in the port of Los Angeles, and shipping for pre-orders is expected to start in early April. A retail release is scheduled for May 3rd. This is actually the second big box for Terra Mystica, because an earlier version containing just the base game and the Fire & Ice expansion was released in 2015.
