Stonemaier Games announces first expansion to Tapestry, Plans and Ploys

Jamey Stegmaier and Stonemaier Games have announced the first expansion to their 2019 release Tapestry. Tapestry: Plans and Ploys will add anticipated new civilizations to the game, as well as new landmarks, tapestry cards, space tiles, and a bag for pulling territory tiles.

In the core game, players could acquire the beautifully sculpted landmarks only through progress on the achievement tracks or through tech cards. Now, landmark cards have been added to the game, giving a third path to add brand new landmarks (including a game store). Players had asked about special powers attached to landmarks, so one of the new civilizations will do just this – add abilities for each landmark type.

One other goal for this expansion was to add more player interaction, and this is being done through more tapestry cards. The original game included 7 identical “trap” cards, useful during player conquests. The expansion will add 15 new cards, including response cards and 5 new trap types.

Preorders for Tapestry: Plans and Ploys are expected in September. For more information, check Stonemaier Games’ website here for upcoming designer diary entries.
