Starting the Journey with the Lord of the Rings
Fantasy Flight Games has announced new starter decks for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. There are 4 decks in this initial publishing, each representing a different faction: the Dwarves of Durin, the Elves of Lorien, the Defenders of Gondor, and the Riders of Rohan. The decks are designed to be played with the Revised Core Set. The original Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, published 10 years ago in 2011, was designed by Nate French. The game plays 1-2 players, ages 13 and up, in 30-60 minutes.
Since each deck is built around not only a different theme, but a different play style as well, these decks are a perfect starting point for beginner players or players who would like to build their own decks apart from those in the Revised Core Set. The new decks are pre-built and have multiple additional cards that can be used with any decks that you build for yourself. While there is nothing new here for longtime players of the game who already own every expansion, there is a ton of content for those new to the game.
For additional information on each of the new decks, be sure and check out the Fantasy Flight webpage here.
