Spiel.Digital releases final report on the virtual convention

November 3, 2020 - 11:23pm

Spiel.Digital was the first virtual edition of Spiel, the world’s largest board and card game convention. Due to current events, this digital manifestation of everyone’s favorite German convention streamed its way into gamer’s computers from October 22-25. The organizers were very happy with the turnout and reported some final numbers from the convention. 148,000 visitors took part in the convention, and the official livestreams alone recorded more than one million hits. More than 400 publishers from 41 different nations participated, showing off new games, and playing games on virtual tables, using the many existing online platforms; Tabletopia alone reported a doubling of users during Spiel Digital.

The next Spiel convention is scheduled to take place over October 14-17, 2021 - hopefully in the Essen Messe as is the norm. For more information, check out the official press release here.
