Smitten with Stonemaier Games

September 12, 2022 - 6:33pm

Stonemaier Games are releasing Smitten, a cooperative micro-game designed and published in celebration of their 10th anniversary. In Smitten, 1-2 players work to complete two identical 3x3 grids of cards with limited information/communication. The game has multiple levels of difficulty and separate solo and 2-player modes.

Jamey Stegmaier, Smitten’s designer, attributes the design to inspiration from his youth from comic book cards which formed 9-card panorama images. Players try to complete two of these panoramas, in no set turn order, as they indicate a preference to play or not play a card. There are instructions on played cards for other players to follow which dictates how they place a card, which they must do or the game immediately ends.

The game features artwork by Vincent Dutrait and is packaged inside a paper envelope which is a plastic-free, eco-friendly product.

Smitten will primarily be available on the Stonemaier Games webstore sometime mid-September, and will be included free with other purchases.
