Serpentor comes to the G.I. Joe Deck-Building Game
Renegade Game Studios has announced an expansion for the G.I. Joe Deck-Building Game. Get ready for new foes and new resources to combat them in G.I. Joe Deck-Building Game: Shadow of the Serpent Expansion. Shadow of the Serpent includes two new missions for your team of Joes.
First, if you think Cobra Commander from the base game is a pushover, well get ready for the Rise of Serpentor! In G.I. Joe lore, Serpentor is a clone created by Doctor Mindbender from the DNA amalgamation of history's most brilliant and ruthless leaders. The Rise of Serpentor scenario includes the creation and rise to power of Serpentor. The Joes can help Serpentor remove Cobra leadership, but have to be too careful not to give Serpentor too much power for the inevitable showdown.
Second, in Night of the Arashikage, the G.I. Joe Command Center is under attack from a swarm of ninjas! You have to fend them off, then find and destroy their base. The command center is made up of multiple tiles, each depicting a room with a special power to aid the Joes. Tiles will start face up for face down depending on the scenario, and their power will only be functional if the tile is face up. Players can collectively spend resources to flip a tile face up and enable its power.
Among the new content in Shadow of the Serpent are:
- Firefly - a Cobra officer
- Storm Shadow - a Joe leader
- Ninja gear, such as a katana and shuriken
- C-130 Hercules transport, which can carry 11 Joes and a ground transport
G.I. Joe Deck-Building Game: Shadow of the Serpent Expansion is designed by Matt Hyra, with art by Robert Atkins. It currently is available for pre-order through Renegade Games Studio. Pre-orders will come with the Shadow of the Serpent Bonus Box #2, featuring a 3D Command Center backdrop and new versions of Scarlett and Snake Eyes for the main deck.
