A Sequel to Skulk Hollow

April 13, 2022 - 7:01pm

Pencil First Games has announced a Kickstarter campaign for a sequel to Skulk Hollow entitled Maul Peak, which is a stand alone game although it is cross compatible with the original game.  Maul Peak is designed by Eduardo Baraf and Keith Matejka.  The artwork is provided by Dustin Foust, Sebastian Koziner, and Helen Zhu.  The game is designed strictly for 2 players, ages 12 and up, and takes about 40 minutes to play.

In Maul Peak, which is a 2-player asymmetrical tactics game, one player will take the role of a tribe of the Grizzar  and the other the role of the Guardians.  In order to win the game as the Grizzar, a player must travel across the land, scale the monster, and vanquish the Guardian to win.  On the other hand, the Guardian player needs to knock out all of the Grizzar tribe to win.  If the players own Skulk Hollow, the tribes and guardians from that game can be imported into this one. In addition, if the players own the original game, they can play Battle for Bore with 3-4 players.

This fully-funded Kickstarter campaign has a little under two weeks to go at the time of this writing.  There are multiple game play videos on the Kickstarter campaign page as well as stretch goals and game bundles.  For further information, be sure and check here.  The game is expected to deliver in May 2023.
