The Rise of Red Skull brings Marvel Champions its first campaign expansion

Since its release last year, Fantasy Flight Games has provided Marvel Champions continuous expansion support, whether it be in small Hero Pack expansions to add heroes to your game or larger Scenario Expansions to add villains and their schemes for the heroes to defeat.  The Rise of Red Skull is the first campaign expansion for Marvel Champions and packs two heroes and five villains and their scenarios in one expansion.

New in this expansion are Spider-Woman and Hawkeye. Hawkeye is armed with his upgradable bow and can deal damage in large groups to clear out minions or deal massive damage to a single target. Hawkeye comes with an equally capable ally, Kate Bishop, providing any hero with additional lethal firepower.  Spider-Woman gets more powerful with each aspect card played, and because she is a double-agent she gets double the aspects in deck-building.  Spider-Girl and Spider-Man are available allies to forge a powerful Spider-Team.

The Red Skull is the featured villain in this expansion, but there are other villains and their schemes to defeat: Crossbones, Absorbing Man, Taskmaster, and Zola.  Crossbones is a weapons expert, capable of piercing damage ignoring tough status cards of his target.  Absorbing man makes use of the new environment cards to adopt their features to use against his opponents.  

The new campaign mode packages all five villains into a cohesive and engaging story that allows choices and upgrades carry across the campaign to an exciting final fight against the Red Skull.

Player Mats for specific for The Rise of Red Skull are also available separately. Fantasy Flight has already planed five new expansions (one new scenario pack and four new hero packs) to arrive beginning in August.  A sneak peak is available on their website.  A second campaign expansion has been announced, but we will have to wait to see what it is.
