Reiner Knizia's first legacy game, My City releasing in English this July

June 22, 2020 - 1:32am

My City by master designer Dr. Reiner Knizia (Tigris & Euphrates, Ra) is a competitive legacy, city building game for 2-4 players. My City recently hit the news, being one of the 3 games nominated for the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award for 2020. In My City, players each build up their own player board, growing a city from its infancy through industrialization and beyond. Each player gets their own landscape board and polyomino building tiles in different colors and shapes. Game play consists of tile placement, the order of which is dictated by a deck of cards. During each game, stickers may be placed on boards, permanently changing the game. The full experience of My City consists of 24 “episodes”, each about 30 minutes long, complete with secret envelopes and reveals. For those players not comfortable with a legacy style game, the back side of each player board consists of an alternate setup for repeated play.  Now Thames and Kosmos has announced that the English language version of My City will be released July 31 at Barnes and Noble, before a more widespread release the following October.
