Reimagining Stefan Feld’s Cities

August 21, 2020 - 11:12am

Queen Games has announced a Kickstarter campaign for two games in what they are calling “Stefan Feld City Collection,” which are games that have been previously released by Mr Feld, but are now coming out in updated editions with revised rule sets.   The first game in the collection is Hamburg, which was previously known as Bruges, and the second game to be released is Amsterdam, reimplementing long-out-of-print Macao.  The games in this collection, 8 in all at this point, are going to be released over the next several years.

Hamburg plays 2-5 players, ages 10 and up, in about 60-90 minutes.  The game is a hand management, tableau-building game in which the players must use their cards to their best advantage, as each card has multiple uses.

Amsterdam plays 2-4 players, ages 12 and up, and takes between 1-2 hours to play.  This game features an action point mechanism as players must use cubes of specific colors to activate certain actions.  They must also set up networks to deliver goods so route building is an important part of the game as well.

The differences between the original editions of the games and the new editions are all detailed on the Kickstarter campaign page found here.  This fully-funded Kickstarter campaign has about 2 weeks left at the time of this writing.  The Kickstarter page features deluxe editions of both games, multiple stretch goals, and add-ons.  Both games are expected to deliver in June 2021.
