Ravensburger and Gamefound are looking for the next big family game
The publisher behind The Castles of Burgundy, Puerto Rico and The Quest for El Dorado is holding a contest for all those wanna-be game designers out there. Starting November 15, the public is encouraged to submit game ideas online. Ravensburger is specifically looking for family games targeting ages 7 and up, 60 minute playing time max. Promising designs will be asked to send in a prototype, and a jury will pick the best 3 titles. Finalists will run campaigns on GameFound with a €30,000 funding goal, and the campaign with the most backers will receive a retail publishing contract from Ravensburger, with a minimum 10,000 copy print run, and 10% royalty on net sales.
