Quilts and Cats of Calico on Steam

A digital adaption of Calico, an award-winning puzzle game for 1-4 players, was developed by Monster Couch and recently released on the Steam PC games platform. Quilts & Cats of Calico has players meet adorable cats and sew cosy quilts. The game supports competition against other players in multiplayer gameplay, though it can also be played solo as players delve into the story of a tailor travelling a war- stricken world while battling against a large corporation, threating the tailor guild, with varying levels of AI difficulty.

If you’re a fan of the tactile, physical version of the game then the digital version adds a different level of immersion. The growing quilt bends under the weight of paws and loud purring can be heard. Cats are active during the games, and respond to what players do. Each have their own character, and allow players to interact with them. They will observe the board, walk around, and fall into blissful naps. If that’s not enough, the game even supports customization in that you can design your own cat and name it, and change the background of the game along with different quilt patterns. And if that’s still not enough you can also enjoy relaxing music composed by Pawel Górniak who did the music for the digital version of Wingspan.
