Push your luck with St. Patrick

September 12, 2022 - 7:00pm

Publisher Matagot is releasing St. Patrick, a trick-taking game designed by Haig Tahta and Sasha Tahta Alexander (co-designers of Salvage). Its played over several rounds for 25 - 30 minutes, and is intended for 2-4 players. The goal is to retain the most life points while hunting snakes and recovering relics. As the title name implies, there’s an element of luck as you keep pushing for relics and increase the chance of disaster, by suffering snake bites.

Each round of the game has three phases which consist of dealing cards, recovering relics, and hunting snakes. If players are greedy and recover all the relics prior to the snake hunt, the relics turn into curses. Rounds continue until a player has lost all 20 of their starting life points. At that point the winner is the player with the most life points.

St Patrick will have limited release at Essen Spiel this October.
