Restoration Games announced the Unmatched Deck Design Contest Winners earlier this month along with their winning decks which are:
● Adil M. Geresu, “The Genie of the Lamp”
● Sam Crane, “Harry Houdini”
● Jonathan Guberman, “William Shakespeare”
● Chet Dudick & Charles Peters, “Rosie the Riveter”
They originally planned to only have four winning decks to be featured in a single set but due to an overwhelming response of high quality submissions eight additional decks will appear in future sets.The first planned set from the winning entries is “Unmatched: Houdini vs. The Genie”. Lucky Duck Games announced that they’re developing a new brand, “Lucky Duck Kids”, that will create games for younger and family audiences with two games already scheduled for release this year. These would both be app-supported hybrid games, with one of the two featuring the “Scan & Play” system similar to the one used in Chronicles of Crime but set in a magical, fantasy world suitable for players aged 7 and up. They’re also partnering with Game Trayz to bring their "X-Trayz" products to a worldwide audience.
Gen Con is the longest-running tabletop gaming convention in North America. Its held, annually, in Indianapolis, IN since 1968. This year they’re moving the convention dates to September 16th – 19th (originally planned for August 5th - 8th) and will be run in a hybrid format with Gen Con Indy (with reduced attendance capacity), Gen Con Online (featuring online gaming, livestreaming, and Discord), and Pop-Up Gen Con (retail activations at local game stores) all running concurrently to provide in-person and online experiences across the country. Kolossal Games launched its Discord and Ambassador Program. Discord allows them to interact directly with the community and promote their content. The Ambassador Program allows people to playtest and learn games before they’re launched on Kickstarter. The Ambassadors would have specific rights and tools and enjoy special privileges on Discord.
They’re currently working on including the Ambassador Program for their next campaign for a new game from Ryan and Brad Pye called Lost Empires.
