In Stefan Dorra’s Pirates, from Queen Games, 3 - 5 players capture ships and discover lost places to gain booty and ducats. Pirates can join together to create tough boarding parties and spread fear among the high sees … as long as they can afford to pay them, or they could face a mutiny! The player who manages their boarding parties the best will earn the most ducats and be crowned the winner! The game, intended for players aged 14+, features art from Michael Mayne and plays in roughly 45 minutes.
The International Gamers Awards (IGA), founded in 1999, have announced the winners of the Multiplayer Award, Two Player Award, and Solo Award categories. The Solo Award was a new category introduced this year. The goal of the awards is to recognize outstanding games, their designers, and the companies which publish them.
The 2021 winners (who beat out some tough competition) are:
Multiplayer Award – Lost Ruins of Arnak designed by Elwin & Min Štach, published by Czech Games Edition
Two Player Award – My City designed by Reiner Knizia, published by Kosmos Games
Solo Award - Under Falling Skies designed by Tomáš Uhlir, published by Czech Games Edition
Details are scant but Funko Games have announced Jurassic World Legacy (though the title could change) an all-new original legacy game experience from Prospero Hall. It spans content from the inception of Jurassic Park through the entire epic franchise.
Alice Cooper’s HorrorBox is an Alice Cooper approved card game filled with 420 cards of spooky questions, answers, and dares, and is available from Fitz Games. It's sold as a core game which can be bought as part of a Horror Super Pack that includes expansions with Aliens, Modern Movies, Iconic Horror characters, R-Rated content, Dares, and more Alice Cooper content. All games from the HorrorBox family are wrapped together like a mummy in a casket. This was previously available online from the Fitz Games website but will now be available in retail stores as from October 2021.
