New Publisher Deep Print Games Founded
There's a new kid on the block in the board game industry! Deep Print Games has been announced as new company, headquartered in Berlin. This new game publisher has been formed by Peter Eggert and Philipp El Alaoui, both formerly of eggertspiele/Plan B Games, along with Viktor Kobilike (also formerly of eggertspiele/Plan B Games) and Matthias Nagy from Frosted Games and Karsten Esser and Andreas Finkernagel, both CEOs of Pegasus Spiele. Each founding member has equal ownership of Deep Print Games and combined bring a total of 130 years of board game industry experience to this new venture. Eggert, El Alaoui, Kobilike and Nagy will have primary responsibility for Deep Print's core business and editorial needs, while Esser and Finkernagel will serve in a supporting role as they continue to lead Pegasus Spiele. Pegasus Spiele will also be Deep Print's exclusive distributor in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Deep Print Games' stated intention is to become a flagship publisher for family games, as well as core games and gamers' games. "We don't want to limit ourselves by categories, but rather, through dedicated editing, realize great game ideas from well-known and new designers in such a way that they offer unique game experiences and leave a lasting impression," explained Viktor Kobilke, describing Deep Print's aim to publish impressive games.
Deep Print's first published game, Renature, will be released at Essen Spiel 2020. Renature is an area control game that uses dominoes designed by Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling. Development is also under way on other future games, including gamer's games and a redesign of a classic game.
