New announcements from DLP Games

August 29, 2020 - 12:16pm

DLP Games are a German board game publisher who are best known for games such as Maracaibo, Yokohama, and Altiplano. They have announced a few new titles on the way this year. We already covered Cloud Age, to be released in the US by Capstone Games, but you can also expect Monasterium, Remember Our Trip, and Orléans Stories 3 & 4.

Monasterium is set in the early Middle Ages where five monasteries were built in a beautiful valley who spread the word of God. Players are the head of a cathedral school who accommodate novices to help build a monastery with a good reputation. Novices are sent to monastery buildings, the chapel, or the cloister, depending on their talents, but influential personalities and other monks also affect the game. Special orders need to be fulfilled to help build the church window of the cathedral to increase the fame of the school. After three years the most fame and honor is determined. Monsterium is a strategic game for 2-4 players, aged 12+, designed by Arve D. Fühler, with art by Dennis Lohausen, and plays in 90-120 mins.

Remember Our Trip has 2-4 players remember their last city trip to Kyoto and Singapore. Players need to show the exact locations of sights, hotels, parks, shops, and restaurants on their player board that they think they have visited. The more players agree with actual coordinates, the more points they will get. Impressive photographs and the fulfillment of orders bag extra points, but deceptive memories can add negative points. The player whose reconstruction of the plan with the most similarities wins the game. The game keeps the original Japanese graphics as it best represents the ease of play. Remember Our Trip plays in roughly 30 mins, is aimed at players aged 10+, and is designed by Daryl Chow and Saashi, with art by Takako Takarai.

Orléans Stories: “The Settlers”, and Orléans “England vs. France”, are the 3rd and 4th stories in the series designed by Reiner Stockhausen with art by Klemens Franz. In Orléans Stories: “The Settlers”, players go back to the early settlement around Orléans. Farmers gradually expand their settlements assisted by craftsmen, monks, and scholars. Sometimes minor skirmishes interrupt an otherwise quiet life. This story is meant for players who love the quiet structure without major external disturbances. Orléans Stories: “England vs. France” is set during the feud between the two countries and requires exactly 4 players, who play in teams of 2, except none of the players know which team the other is on as this is gradually revealed thru the course of the game. Players need to quickly fulfill the common task and send secret messages to aid in victory.

These games are all slated for a European release in the 3rd quarter of 2020.
