More Dinosaurs Are Always a Good Thing!
Pandasaurus Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for not one, but two games in the Dinosaur Island universe, Dinosaur World and Dinosaur Island: Rawr ‘n Write. The same design team is behind both games: Brian Lewis, David McGregor, and Marissa Misura. The same artists are also supplying the art for both games including Kwanchai Moriya, Stevo Torres, and Andrew Thompson, while Joe Shawcross is helping with the art on Dinosaur World exclusively.
Dinosaur World plays 2-4 players, ages 10 and up, in anywhere from an hour to 2 hours. According to the Kickstarter page, this game provides a completely different experience than Dinosaur Island does. Dinosaur World utilizes route-building, using the new Jeeps introduced into the game, in addition to worker placement and tile laying as the primary mechanisms of the game.
Dinosaur Island: Rawr ‘n Write plays 2-4 players, ages 10 and up, in about 30-45 minutes. The primary mechanism of this robust roll-and-write game is dice drafting. Players use the dice as workers that they have drafted during a worker placement phase all the while trying to fill up their parks with polyominoes. The game promises to be a fun and unique experience every time it is played.
The fully-funded Kickstarter campaign has about 2 weeks left in its campaign at the time of this writing. The Kickstarter page includes the live playthroughs and upcoming events related to the games, rulebooks for both games, stretch goals and more. Both games are expected to deliver in July 2021.
