Mind MGMT: The Psychic Espionage "Game" nominated for a Harvey Award for best comic book adaptation
The Harvey Awards, named after Mad Magazine founder Harvey Kurtzman, was established in 1988. Historically, it was created to recognize outstanding achievements in the field of comics but was restructured in 2018 to include other comic-media related fields. In a first since that restructuring, a board game has been nominated to win the “Best Adaptation from Comic Book/Graphic Novel” category.
Mind MGMT: The Psychic Espionage “Game”, is co-designed by Jay Cormier and Sen-Foong Lim with artwork by Mind MGMT comic book series writer/artist Matt Kindt, and is published by Off the Page Games. In Mind MGMT, one player acts as the Mind MGMT recruiter, moving around a secret board trying to recruit other operatives while the other players are rouge agents trying to deduce the location of the recruiter before they can collect twelve recruits or last sixteen rounds.
The winners of the Harvey Awards will be announced at a special awards ceremony at the New York Comic Con on October 2nd. Voting for the award can be done by comic professionals who have been approved for an artist alley or professional badge at any ReedPop convention within the past six years (2016-2022). Votes are due by September 2nd.
Mind MGMT: The Psychic Espionage “Game” plays 2-5 players, ages 13+, and has an estimated playtime of 75 minutes.
