The Intersection of Art and Gaming

September 1, 2021 - 12:12pm

The Chicago Public Arts Group (CPAG) has commissioned Chicago-based artist Czr Prz to paint a mural, based on CATAN, to celebrate the magic of interconnection in Chicago’s Albany Park area.  The Chicago mural is just the first of many that are being commissioned worldwide to celebrate CATAN and its effect on the gaming community at large.

“CATAN is a global brand, but it builds locally from every table it is played on. When people play CATAN they are founding a micro-community. We want to be involved in lasting impactful relationships with local communities, facilitated by local artists and non-profit art advocacy organizations. We’d prefer to give to communities rather than paying for advertisements. This is our way of returning our success into supporting local artists and foundations.” - CATAN CCO Morgan Dontanville

The Chicago mural was officially unveiled to the public August 26, 2021 at Surge Coffee Bar & Billiards, 3241 W Montrose Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
